John Hathaway died before 8 Oct. 1836, when a request was filed with the Commissioner's of Accounts, Bracken County, Ky. by John P. Hathaway, son of John, deceased. His application for a pension was denied, having served only three months in the Revolution. The service included Yorktown. He was Capt. in 1812. He received from his father, lands which Simon Kenton was to locate for him, 1100 acres along the Big Sandy River which runs between West Virginia and Kentucky as it enters the Ohio River. He was the only son of Capt.John to go to Mason County, Ky. See page 912 of "HATHAWAYS OF AMERICA" for other items.
