1870 CENSUS, MARGARETTA, ERIE, OH: (Indexed as “Lunce”, but combination of names and ages seems a pretty good fit - but this one is not a certainty): Household consists of Peter Lunce age 50 and a farmer, and wife Mary age 37. Both were born in Germany, but all the children are born in Ohio. Children at home are Peter (age 13), Louise (10), Joseph (9), John (8), William (5), Frank (3), and Charles (1).

1880 CENSUS, SANDUSKY, ERIE, OH: Peter is age 57, a carpenter, born in Prussia. Wife Mary is age 47, born in Baden. All the children are born in Ohio. At home are John (17), William (14), Frank (13), Mary (8), Frederik (6), and Louis (3). A married daughter, Elisa Burgert (25) is there with her husband (i.e., Peter’s son-in-law) Robert Burgert (30, born in Baden) The Burgert’s have two daughters (identified as Peter’s granddaughters) - Carolina (3) and Christine (2).

1900 CENSUS, SANDUSKY, ERIE, OH: Peter “Lonz” is there, age 74, born Jun 1825 in Germany, immigrated in 1850, and Widowed. Present are his son Fred Lonz, born Mar 1875 in Ohio, says his mother was born in Germany. Also his daughter-in-law Carrie Lonz, born May 1877 in Ohio. And they have a boarder, Cecilia Neal, age 20.
