"Resided Watertown, mass. where he settled about 1642 --- adm. freeman 10 May 1643. Was proprietor of one lot of 9 acreas, his homestall in the Town Lot granted to R. Frake on the north side of the Sudbury Rd. opposite to A. Brown.

"His sister Martha (Fiske) Underwood (widow) who lived with him, testified that he was /very crazy in his memory before he died.

"According to Middlesex Probate Records Vol. 4, p. 269 -- 'Nathan Fiske, Sr. of Watertown, will dated 19 June 1676, bequests --' Sonne Nathan 30 shilligs, he being already, thorow the mercy of God, well provided for with my help formerly'

"'2nd sonne John Fiske, dwelling house, barn etc., 4 a(cres) of upland upon little playne & 10 ac of Meadow in the meadow commonly called Thatcher's Meadow etc.'

"'3rd. to my sonnes David & Nathaniel Fiske 13 a(cres) of my land lying in the further playne to be equally divided between them.'

"'4th, Daughter Sarah Gale ---'

"'5th, my two sons (eldest) nathan and John, Exrs.' page 270 gives inventory.

"From this point on the spelling seems to be Fiske or Fisk for all New England families."
