Mrs. Julia Claudine Greer Coffey, 75, of Hudson, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson.

Mrs. Coffey was born Aug. 1, 1937, in Watauga County, a daughter of the late Carl Spencer Greer and Jeanie Mae Greer. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist Faith.

Mrs. Coffey is survived by three daughters, Penny Wagner and husband, Michael, of Lenoir, Deanie Clark of Hudson, and Daphne Byrd of Granite Falls; two sons, Floyd "Rooney" Greer of Lenoir, and Travis Calloway and wife, Tammy, of Granite Falls; and two sisters, Earlene Walker and Marlene Carter and husband, Floyd, all of Lenoir. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Randolph Coffey; three brothers, Harley Greer, Howard Greer, and Grady Greer; and four sisters, Eunice Moretz, Iris Reid, Ruby Adkins, and Louella Reese.

Funeral services for Mrs. Julia Claudine Greer Coffey will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel. The body will lie in state, at the chapel, from 1 to 2 p.m. Officiating will be Pastor Mike Lowman. Burial will follow in Laurel Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the service.
