Everett Turner Coffey, 71, of Route 5, Lenoir, died Saturday at Caldwell Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

Mr. Coffey was born May 20, 1914, in Watauga County. He was a son of the late Millard and Mary Nelson Coffey.

Mr. Coffey was retired from Kincaid Furniture Company.

Survivors include the wife, Mrs. Thelma Greer Coffey of the home; two sons, Earnest and J.B. Coffey, both of Hudson; a daughter, Mrs. Rex (Bernice) Bishop of Hudson; sixx grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; and a sister, Mrs. Lee (Mamie) Turnmire of Lenoir,

The body will be placed in Setzer's Creek Baptist Church 30 minutes prior to an 11 a.m. Tuesday service by the Rev. Robert Kirby. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

The family will be at Pendry's Lenoir Funderal Home today from 7 until 8:30 p.m.

J. B. Junior Coffey
August 1, 1939 - February 9, 2015

J. B. Junior Coffey, age 75, of Granite Falls, died Monday, February 9, 2015 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born August 1, 1939 in Watauga County to the late Evert Turner and Thelma Clora Greer Coffey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant brother, Leroy Coffey and one brother, Earnest Coffey.

Mr. Coffey had worked at MDI as meat director, was co-owner of Century Food Brokers and was a broker for Suncrest Farms in Wilkesboro. He was a Happy Valley High School graduate and a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his Loving Wife of 56 years, Patty Brookshire Coffey; one daughter, Teresa C. Herman and husband Robert of Granite Falls; one son, Stephen P. Coffey and wife Linda of Wilkesboro; one sister, Bernice J. Smith of Hudson; grandchildren, Shane Coffey and wife Tamara, Casey Herman, Carrie Deal and husband Jeff, Derek Coffey, Robert Herman, Jr., Jonathan Coffey and Caroline McGee and husband Chris and Emilie Potter; and great-grandchildren, Kaylee Travis, Ethan Deal, Turner McGee, Kendal Coffey and Natalie Deal; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 4:00 P.M. at Ebenezer United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Eric Lane.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Ebenezer UMC Building Fund, 4948 Burns Road, Granite Falls, NC 28630 or Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645
