LEMMIE E. COFFEY

Lemmie E. Coffey, age 76, of Gold Canyon, AZ, died Friday, Dec.14, 2007 in Mesa, AZ. Lemmie was born Dec. 14, 1931 in Granger County, Tennessee, the son of James Nelson and Joycie Clara (Dalton) Coffey. Lemmie honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He worked in Quality Control at General Motors in Pontiac and retired in 1990. Lemmie loved fishing and traveling.

He is survived by his wife, Shelvy; son, David and wife Lori Coffey; stepdaughter Karen Batten; grandsons, Curtis and Kevin Wells; brothers, Vernon and Raymond Coffey and sister Lela Milligan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Ida Jo Coffey in 1988, one brother and two sisters.

Funeral services 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 20, 2007 at McConnell Funeral Home, 500 Main St., Fenton, with the Rev. Larry Austin officiating. Interment at Tyrone Memory Gardens with Military Honors held under the auspices of the Fenton Curtis Wolverton VFW Post 3243. Visitation Wednesday 3-8 p.m.

Lemmie Elmer Coffey and Ida Jo were married. Ida Jo was born on 20 December 1935. Ida died on 19 August 1988 and was buried at Morristown, Hamblen Co., TN in August 1988.46852
