Coffey Jr., James Arch, 87, of Morristown, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2007, at Life Care Center. He was of the Baptist faith and a veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Arch Coffey Sr. and Grace Wells Coffey; son William Mike Coffey; brother Carroll Coffey; sisters Mary Lee Coffey and Margie Coffey; step-sons Edward Lee Rayle, Steven Carroll Rayle and Ronald David Rayle. He is survived by his wife Edith Coffey; sons, Donald L. Coffey, Alan J. Coffey and Stanley A. Coffey all of Morristown; daughters, Edith Saymons of Talbott and June Bailey of Morristown; step-daughters, Evelyn D. Smith of Morristown, Rita Ann Rayle of Parrotsville, Tn. and Linda D. Taylor of Morristown; sister, Edith M. Reynolds; nephew, Lee Carroll Reynolds; aunt, Francis Finchum; and grandchildren, great grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2007 at Westside Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Devotie and the Rev. J.B. Gulley officiating. Military graveside services will follow in Jarnagin Cemetery with VFW Post 5266 officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 at the funeral home. Arrangements by West Side Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.

Edith I. Coffey 

Died: Jan. 4, 2012 

MORRISTOWN -- Edith I. Coffey, age 88, of Morristown, passed away Wednesday at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center in Knoxville. 

She was a member of the House of Prayer. 

She was preceded in death by her husband: James A. Coffey; sons: William Mike Coffey, Eddie Rayle, Steve Rayle, and an infant, David Rayle; parents: Frank and May Bell McCrary; brothers: John McCrary and Buster Dennison; and sister: Edna Morris. 

She is survived by her children: June Marie, Evelyn (Alfred) Smith, Linda Taylor, Rita Rayle, Donald Coffey, Alan Coffey, Stanley Coffey, and Marie (Ronnie) Synamon; her grandchildren: Teresa (Jeff) Beavers, Amanda Coffey, Jamie Coffey, George Arnold, Jason Arnold, Sherry (Bob) Austin, Brenda (Ed) Clark, Jennifer (David) Hoard, Jeremy (Lana) Lawson, Lynn Lawson, B.J. Rayle, Leah Ann Taylor, David Taylor, Sarah Taylor, and Terry and Marie; her great-grandchildren: Rachael Beavers, Sierra Trott, Erica Green, Daniel (Katy) Parker, Amy (Bryce) Bower, Ace Holt, and Sam Holt; her great-great-grandchildren: Jack, Lilly, and Simon Bower and Brandon Lawson; and numerous nieces and nephews, including a special nephew: Lee Carroll Reynolds. 

"Our apologies to anyone we may have failed to mention. From all of your children, grandchildren, and everyone whom you loved, we all loved and admired you and we will see you again, beyond forever." 

The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Westside Chapel Funeral Home, Morristown. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Roe Junction Baptist Church with the Rev. Curtis Seals and the Rev. Louie Spradling officiating. Interment will follow at Bethesda Cemetery. 

The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service.
