PAUL HUBERT ADAMS, age 72, passed away Saturday, September 26, 1998 at the Veteran Administration Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky.

He was born in the Leatha Community of McGoffin County on February 14, 1926, the son of Charles and Nellie Coffey Adams. Both parents preceded him in death.

On September 5, 1947 he married Nella Vaughn Adams, who survives.

He is also survived by 2 children Carol Hood and Danny Adams; and 2 grandchildren.

He was the former owner of Bertram's Jewelry. He had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church.

He joined the military and attended Baylor University for a short period of time prior to being sent to Europe in 1944. In January of 1945 he was wounded twice and taken as a prisoner of war and held until VE Day. He was sent home after a lengthy stay in the Percy Jones General Hospital and was discharged with honor in 1946.

Funeral services were held Monday, September 28, 1998 in the funeral home chapel with Brother L. C. Meadows and Brother Coy Webb officiating. Burial was in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
