81, of Cooperative, Ky., died August 23, 1993, at the Scott County Hospital.

Born July 7, 1912, in Oil Valley, Ky., he was the son of the late Albert Coffey and the late Lottie Ann Denny Coffey. He was a coal miner and was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Esther Spradlin Coffey; three brothers: Clarence Nelson Coffey, Roy Lee Coffey and Wendell Albert Coffey; and three sisters: Anna Marie Coffey, Thelma Mae McCullah and Susie Oneida Griffis.

He is survived by his children: Mr. and Mrs. Sterling (Fannie) Coffey of Stearns, Ky., Mr. and Mrs. Forrest (Geraldine) Coffey of Cincinnati, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Albert (Libby) Coffey of Stearns, Ky., Mr. and Mrs. Eddie (Joy) Coffey of Clairfield, Tenn., Gerald Coffey of St. Mary's, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth (Paula) Coffey of Hamilton, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. Bobby (Janice) Coffey of Stearns, Mr. and Mrs. Lindell (Reba) Kidd of Stearns, Charlotta Coffey, Oneida, Theresa Shook, Stearns; and a son-in-law, Herman Lee, Hamilton, Ohio.

Other survivors include 32 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren; three brothers: Wallace Earnest Coffey, James O'Dell Coffey, and Harold Eugene Coffey, all of Cincinnati; three sisters: Ruby Opal Chitwood of Pine Knot, Ky., Sarah Doris Jones and Clara Joyce Green, both of Cincinnati. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, August 26, 11 a.m. at the White Oak Junction Baptist Church with Rev. Earl Davis officiating. Burial will follow in the Spradlin Cemetery.

Earl Edison Coffey and Mary Esther "Rett" Spradlin were married on 26 August 1933 in Kentucky. They appeared in the census on 14 April 1940 in Claiborne Co., TN.47591 Mary Esther "Rett" Spradlin was born on 13 May 1914. Mary died on 5 July 1972 and was buried at the Spradlin Cemetery in Co-Operative, McCreary Co., KY in July 1972 .47592

WHITLEY CITY — Janice Deola Coffey age 63 years, 4 months, and 3 days of Stearns, Kentucky passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 1:00 pm at the Hickman-Strunk Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Inman and Bro. George Allen Coffey officiating. Burial followed in the Spradlin Cemetery.

She was born November 3, 1949 in Eagan, Tennessee to Earl Coffey and Esther (Spradlin) Coffey. Janice was a member of the Cherokee United Baptist Church. She had a heart of gold and never met a stranger. Janice enjoyed caring for her family and friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents, sisters, Barbara Lee and Shirley Coffey, and a little brother she loved dearly, Kenny Coffey.

Survivors include her daughters, Hannah Esther Garrett of Whitley City, Kentucky and Hallie Bobbie Coffey of Stearns, Kentucky; the father of her daughters, Bobby Coffey of Stearns, Kentucky; brothers, Gene Coffey of Stearns, Kentucky, Eddie Coffey of Lafollette, Tennessee, Pete Coffey of Ohio, Jerry Coffey of Oneida, Tennessee, and Albert Coffey of Stearns, Kentucky; sisters, Reba Kidd of Stearns, Kentucky, Charlotta Kidd of Oneida, Tennessee, and Teresa Monroe of Helenwood, Tennessee; grandchildren, Virginia Rayne Cooper, Gracie Marie Garrett, and Johnna Rose Garrett; the children who called her nana, Noah Dale, Audrie, and Abbie Shook; and several nieces and nephews.
