Stella Irene Hoover was born July 24, 1924 and departed this life Tuesday, April 28, 2009 reaching the age of 84 years. She was the daughter of the late Henry Milford and Alice (Phipps) Coffey.

She is survived by: 1 son, James Coffey of Somerset, KY, 2 daughters, Betty Hoover of Marion, IN and Jean Blackburn of Newport News, VA, 5 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. She is also survived by: 2 sisters, Emma Dolen of Monticello, KY and Nellie Coffey of Somerset, KY; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, Henry and Alice Coffey, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Lindsay Hoover, 1 brother, George Coffey, 4 sisters, Sallie Roberts, Effie Tapley, Jennie Worley, and Geneva West, and 1 grandchild.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

[In the 1940 census she was 13 yrs. old and younger than sister Geneva who was 16 yrs. old.]

Stella Irene Coffey and Lindsey Hoover were married. Lindsey is buried at Elk Spring Cemetery in Monticello, Wayne Co., KY.
