Burlington - Lewis Haywood Coffey, 70, of 1607 Whitsett St., died Sunday at his home.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at Rich & Thompson Funeral Home.

He was retired owner of Coffey's Barber Shop, a natice of Mecklenburg County, a member of First Baptist Church of Haw River and a World War II veteran.

Surviving are wife, Mrs. Hazel Testerman Coffey; a daughter, Mrs. Jean Bradley of Willow Grove, Pa.; sons, Lewis Coffey Jr. of Greensboro, Harvey Coffey of Concord; stepdaughters, Mrs. Joyce Phillips and Mrs. Janeen Bryant of Burlington; brothers, Bill and Grover Coffey Jr. of Burlington, Gene Coffey of Concord; one grandchild; several stepgrandchildren.

The family will be at the home of Mrs. Joyce Phillips, 610 S. Sellars Mill Road.

Burlington - Funeral for Lewis Haywood Coffey, 70, of 1697 Whitsett St., who died Sunday, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Rich and Thompson Funeral Home with the Rev. Larry Thompson and the Rev. Don Swinney officiating. Burial will be in Alamance Memorial Park.

The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. today.

Lewis Haywood Coffey and Beulah Victoria Allman were married. They appeared in the census on 19 April 1940 in Burlington, Alamance Co., NC.45202 They45202 were divorced. Beulah Victoria Allman, daughter of George Allman and Frankie Jemmima Hunnicut, was born on 17 February 1913 in North Carolina. Beulah died at Alamance Co. Hospital in Burlington, Alamance Co., NC on 10 February 1972 of a myocardial infarction and was buried at Pine Hill Cemetery in Burlington, Alamance Co., NC on 12 February 1972 .45203,45204,45205

Mrs. Beulah A. Coffey

Burlington - Mrs. Beulah Almond [sic] Coffey, 58, of 1613 Belmont St., was dead on arrival Thursday at Alamance County Hospital following an apparent heart attack. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in McClure Funeral Chapel.

She was a former textile employee and a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church.

Surviving are daughter, Mrs. Jean Pulliam of Burlington; sons, Harvey A. Coffey of Concord and Lewis H. Coffey of the home; sister, Mrs. Virginia Porter of Concord.

The body is at McClure Funeral Home, where the family will see friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
