BOONE - Mrs. Chloe Coffey Henderson, 92, of Boone died Monday, Aug. 16, 2004, at Glenbridge Health Care in Boone. She was born June 10, 1912, in Watauga County to the late William and Ada Brown Coffey. She was a graduate of Boone High School and a retired cashier from the Appalachian State University Student Center. She was a member and former Sunday school teacher at Perkinsville Baptist Church.

A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she is survived by five daughters, Fern Casey and husband C.W. of Winston-Salem, Jackie Perry and husband Thomas of Vilas, Faye Church and husband Luther of Blowing Rock and Lynda Henderson and Priscilla McCrary and husband Roger, all of Lenoir; three sons, Buster Henderson and wife Marcella of Boone, Ray Henderson of Hickory, and David Henderson Jr. and friend Willa of Cameron, Mont.; a brother, Bobby Coffey and wife Mary of Lenoir; and a sister, Willa Jean Newland and husband Harvey of Amelia, Ohio. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a number of stepgrandchildren, stepgreat-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Spencer Henderson; and a sister, Mrs. Clara Miller.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today, Aug. 19, at Hampton Funeral Home Chapel in Boone with the Rev. Burl Greer and Dr. Daniel Featherstone officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery in Blowing Rock.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1:30 p.m. today prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Watauga County, 136 Furman Road, Boone, NC 28607. Arrangements are by Hampton Funeral Service in Boone.

Lynda Gail Henderson was born on 14 September 1948 in Watauga Co., NC. Lynda died on 8 July 2010 at the age of 61 in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC and was buried at Woodlawn Cemetery in Blowing Rock, Watauga Co., NC on 10 July 2010.

Ms. Lynda Gail Henderson, 61, of Ridge Street, Lenoir, went home to be with our Lord, Thursday morning, July 8, 2010, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir.

Ms. Henderson was born Sept. 4, 1948 in Watauga County, a daughter of the late David Spencer Henderson Sr. and Chloe Coffey Henderson. She was a retired licensed practical nurse and a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Ms. Henderson is survived by four sisters, Fern Casey and husband, C.W., of Winston-Salem, Jackie Perry and husband, Thomas, of Vilas, Faye Church and husband, Luther, of Blowing Rock, and Priscilla McCrary and husband, Roger, of Lenoir; and three brothers, Buster Henderson and wife, Marcella, of Boone, Ray Henderson of Hickory, and David Henderson Jr. of Cameron, Mont.

Services were conducted Saturday, July 10, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Lenoir. Officiating was the Rev. Buddy Smith and the Rev. Tim Dockery. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery in Blowing Rock at 3:30 p.m.

The family received friends Saturday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church prior to the service.
