J.O. Coffey, 80, of West Hemlock Street in LaFollette, died Sunday at Lake City Hospital. He was a member and deacon of Midway Baptist Church and a retired miner.

He is survived by his sons, Carl and Kenneth, both of LaFollette; sister, Helen Hook of Colver Splint, Ky.; seven grandchildren, Janet Byrd, Jane and Jerry, Johnny, Jackie, Jimmy, and Mike Coffey; two great-grandchildren, Travis Byrd and Shawn Coffey, all of LaFollette; several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Midway Baptist Church by the Rev. Leonard Dabney. Burial was in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Cross Funeral Home, LaFollette, was in charge of arrangements.

Coffey, Mrs. Pearl Mae - age 76, passed away Feb. 5, at Fort Sanders Hospital. Survivors: husband, Mr. J. O. Coffey; sons, Carl and Kenneth Coffey, of LaFollette; 3 granddaughters, Mrs. Janet Byrd, Jerri and Janie Coffey; 4 grandsons, Johnny, Jackie, Jimmy and Michael Coffey; 1 great granddaughter, Shawn Coffey; 3 sisters, Mrs. Minnie Alexander, Mrs. Harley Ellison, of LaFollette, Mrs. Olivia Parrot, of Lake City; brother, George Pierce, LaFollette. Funeral services 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Midway Baptist Church, Rev. Leonard Dabney officiating. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Visiting house 7-9 o.m. Saturday at Cross Funeral Home, LaFollette.
