Charlotte Temple Allen and George Thomas Dowell were married on 4 April 1838. George Thomas Dowell, son of James Dowell and Martha Coffey, was born on 23 December 1815 in North Carolina. George died on 7 May 1850.

J A Baker, Colton Resident, Succumbs

Widely-known by the older residents of Colton, J A Baker, a retired carpenter, died Wednesday night at the County hospital. He was 80 years old.

Born in Indiana, Mr Baker came to Colton 20 years ago. The widow, Hollie Baker, and a son, Russell A Baker, both are Colton residents. Two daughters and three other sons, all Washington residents, also survive. They are Mrs Flossie Aungst of Seattle, Mrs Robert Wisner of Chehalis, Furman C and Herman O of Longview and Norman E Baker of Kelso.

Funeral services will be held at 3 pm today at the I M Knopsnyder chapel, with internment taking place at Montecito Memorial Park.
