Blanch Andrews

Blanch Gertrude Wellborn Martin Andrews, 89, of Blowing Rock Blvd., Lenoir, died Monday, March 8, 2004, at Lenoir Healthcare Center.

She was born Nov. 19, 1914 in Caldwell County to the late Joseph and Carrie E. Coffey Wellborn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Lee Martin; her second husband, (Bud) H.C. Andrews; three brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Andrews was a homemaker was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three sons, Williams S. Martin, Jack O. Martin and Charles A. Martin all of Lenoir; a daughter, Mrs. Ivolee Martin McCall of Valdese; 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Joe Parker and the Rev. Lynn Hawkins. Interment will follow in J.H. Wilson Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Jason Martin, Charles Martin, Jr., Jamie McCall, Travis Coffey, Tom Haus and Joel Coffey. Honorary pallbearers will be: Donovan Moose, Lee Moose and Will Haus.

Blanche Gertrude Wellborn and William Lee "Billie" Martin were married in 1933 in Caldwell Co., NC.18291 William Lee "Billie" Martin, son of Roby Sherrill Martin and Sarah Ivalee Crisp, was born on 23 December 1913 in North Carolina. William died of an intracerebral hemorrhage on 4 August 1966 at the age of 52 at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., NC and was buried at Collettsville, Caldwell Co., NC on 6 August 1966.18292,18293

Blanche Gertrude Wellborn and Harry Clifton "Bud" Andrews were married in 1971 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC.18294 Harry Clifton "Bud" Andrews, son of Thomas Nelson Andrews and Mary Katherine Summerrow, was born on 26 October 1910 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC. Harry died at Evangeline Nursing Center in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC on 4 May 1994 and was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC on 6 May 1994 .18295,18296

Mr. Harry Clifton Andrews, 83, retired furniture worker, died May 4, 1994, at Evangeline nursing home. Funeral is 2 p.m. today at Pendry's Funeral Home.

Survivors are his wife, Blanch; sons, Gene Andrews of Virginia Beach, Va., Jim Andrews, Eddie Andrews, Roger Andrews, brothers, Howard Andrews, Tom Andrews; sisters, Ms. Margaret Grant of Meridian, Miss., Ms. Mary Andrews, Ms. Ruth Andrews.
