Mr. Joseph Howard Coffey, 85, self-employed builder, died Oct. 14, 1990. Funeral is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cajah's Mountain Baptist Church. Visitation is 7 to 9 tonight at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home. 

Survivors are his wife, Florence; sons, D. Alvin Coffey of Blowing Rock, Robert Coffey of Boone, Ronald Coffey of Iron Station, Russell Coffey, Kenneth Coffey, Joe Coffey; daughters, Mrs. Mary Tobert of Hickory, Mrs. Kathleen Hennessee of Granite Falls, Mrs. Willa Tolbert of Charlotte, Mrs. Doris Hawkins; sister, Mrs. Verleen Beck.

She lived with her parents in Globe Twp., Caldwell Co., NC on 16 January 1920. Florence died of heart failure on 12 February 1994 at the age of 83 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC and was buried at Cajah's Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC on 14 February 1994.35879

Florence Coffey

Florence Hartley Coffey, 83, of Route 11, Lenoir, died Saturday, Feb. 12, 1994 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 13, 1910, in Caldwell County to the late Granville Monroe Hartley and Cora Tester Hartley. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Coffey; five brothers, Frank, Ralph, Fred, Donald and Bobby Hartley; and three sisters, Geneva Thompson, Agnes Greene and Anna Lee Broyhill.

Mrs. Coffey was a homemaker and a member of Cajah's Mountain Baptist Church.

Survivors include six sons, D. Alvin Coffey of Blowing Rock, Ronald Coffey of Iron Station, Robert Coffey of Boone, and Russell Coffey, Kenneth Coffey and Joe Coffey, all of Lenoir; four daughters, Mary Oileen Tolbert of Hickory, Kathleen Hennessee of Granite Falls, Willa Tolbert of Charlotte and Doris Hawkins of Lenoir; two sisters, Gertrude Ford of Lenoir and Irene Tolbert of Blowing Rock; 24 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is at 2 p.m. today at Cajah's Mountain Baptist Church with the Revs. Clyde Coronett and Arthur Kridel officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be David Coffey, Pat Hennessee, Jeff Coffey, Bryan Coffey, Todd Hawkins and Darren Coffey. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Coffey, Kevin Tolbert, Gary Tolbert, Randy Coffey, Greg Coffey, Mark Coffey, Michael Hennessee and Kelly Coffey.

Memorial contributions may be made to Caldwell County Hospice.
