Louise Coffey Carey went to be with out Lord Jesus Christ on February 10, 2004 after an extended illness of two years.

Mrs. Carey of Jacksonville, Florida, was born and raised in Deep Gap, North Carolina. Before her retirement in 1998 she was a professional business woman with Wachovia Bank in Jacksonville. She was an active member of the Murray Hill Baptist Church, and loved to share her love of God with everyone she met. Her church friends were very dear to her.

Mrs. Carey had a love of gardening, and was happiest with she was shopping, especially when buying flowers for her yard. She lived life to the fullest until illness limited her abilities and travels.

Mrs. Carey is survived by daughter, Angela M. Adams of Jacksonville, Andrea Williamson, and husband Tom of Fort Pierce, Florida; granddaughter, Angela Williamson of Tallahassee, Florida; brother, Joe Coffey and wife Gerry of Deep Gap.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday morning at 11:00 a.m. at Laurel Springs Baptist Church in Deep Gap, with Rev. Brent Bollick and Rev. Sumter West Officiating. Burial will follow in the church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 p.m. at Hampton Funeral Service in Boone, North Carolina.


Janice (Mildred?) Louise Coffey and Winfield McCauley Carey were married in August 1956 in Duval Co., FL.44941 Winfield McCauley Carey was born on 16 January 1925 in Portsmouth, VA. Winfield died in Jacksonville, Duval Co., FL on 17 January 1987 and was buried at Laurel Springs Baptist Church Cemetery in Deep Gap, Watauga Co., NC in January 1987 .44942

Winfield M Carey Jr., 62, of Jacksonville, Florida, died Saturday morning, January 17, 1987.

Mr. Carey was born in Portsmouth, Virginia, January 16, 1925, a son of the late Winfield McCauley and Bertie Culpepper Carey. He was a member of Murray Hill Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. He was retired from a local Grocery chain in Jacksonville, Florida.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Louie Coffey Carey, two stepdaughters, one son, and one sister. He is also survived by three grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 11 am at Laurel Springs Baptist Church. The body will lie in state from 10-11 am. Officiating will be the Revs. Robert Honeycutt and Sumter West. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
