Obituary, The News-Topic, Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC, Mon., Feb. 20, 2006 Dewey Lee Coffey Dewey Lee Coffey, 66, of Magnolia St. Rhodhiss, died Friday, Feb. 17, 2006 at Palliative Care Center and Hospice of Catawba Valley. He was born December 28, 1939, in Watauga County to Verdola C. Coffey of Sawmills and the late Paul Carlies Coffey. In addition to his father he is preceded in death by three brothers, Wayne Frank Coffey, Jack Carlies Coffey, and Glenn "Chico" Allen Coffey. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 49 years, Doris Walsh Coffey of the home; a son, Terry Lee Coffey and wife Candy of Granite Falls; a daughter, Donna Winkler and husband Wiley of Granite Falls; three grandsons, Steven Coffey, Ryan Coffey, and Logan Coffey all of Granite Falls; two granddaughters, Melissa Coffey and Mary Kate Winkler both of Granite Falls; two brothers, Ronnie Dariel Coffey and Michael Ray Coffey both of Granite Falls; two sisters, Wanda White of Granite Falls, and Lena Iannacone of Dallas, N.C. The funeral service for Mr. Coffey will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 19, 2006 at Granite Falls Church of God with the Rev. Mike Vanderburg officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today, February 18, 2006 at Mackie-High Funeral Home in Granite Falls.
