Coleen Annas

Coleen Coffey Annas, 81, of Mission Rd., Hudson, died Wednesday, July 9, 2003 in Trinity Hospital in Minot, N. Dakota.

She was born March 10, 1922, in Avery County, the daughter of the late John Sherman and Bunia Vista C. Coffey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Grayson J. Annas; an infant son; two brothers, Willie and Cuba Coffey, and two sisters, Cenie Coffey and Onie Gragg.

She was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church and a retired homemaker.

Survivors include her two sons, and a daughter-in-law, Michael E. and Patty Annas of Minot, N. Dak. and Neal B. Annas of Hudson; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Pamela J. and Dave Coley of Minot, N. Dak., Debra A. and Donald Drost of St. John, USVI, and Patricia E. Ryder of Big Sky, Montana; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Horace Coffey of Lenoir; seven sisters, Ollie Hollander, Molly Jones, Doris Setzer, all of Lenoir, Delores Gragg of Beckley, W. Va., Lorraine Corley of Hudson, Mildred Holland of Goldsboro and Carolyn Morgan of Charlotte.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2003, at Sunrise Baptist Church in Hudson with the Rev. Edd Warren officiating. The body will lie in state 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will follow at Pinecrest Cemetery in Granite Falls.

The family will receive friends form 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2003, at Mackie-High Funeral Home, 35 Duke Street, Granite Falls, and other times at the home of Coleen C Annas, 2785 Mission Road, Hudson.

Pallbearers will be: Dennis Meek, Tim Gregg, Jack Drost, Tommy Coffey, Dale Coffey and Melvin Holland. Honorary pallbearers will be Lloyd Coffey, Jr. Greg Corley, Grayson Stamey and Mitch Stamey.

Susan Coleen Coffey and Grayson Junior Annas were married. Grayson Junior Annas was born on 27 May 1898 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC.5126 He registered for the WWI draft on 12 September 1918 in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC.36166 Grayson died in Hudson, Hudson Twp., Caldwell Co., NC on 12 August 1967 and was buried at Pinecrest Cemetery in Granite Falls, Caldwell Co., NC in August 1967 .36167
