LINVILLE -- Helen Cenia Coffey, 86, died September 30, 2002. Funeral 1pm Thursday, Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home; burial, Roseboro Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday, 7-9pm, at the funeral home.

Helen Cenia Coffey and Lloyd Maynard Coffey were married on 18 August 1934 in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC.36147 They36147 appeared in the census on 14 June 1940 in Wilson Creek Twp., Avery Co., NC.36148 Lloyd Maynard Coffey, son of Joseph Daniel Coffey and Jodie Coffey, was born on 11 January 1914 in Avery Co., NC.36149 He lived with his parents in Wilson Creek Twp., Avery Co., NC on 20 January 1920. He lived with his parents in Wilson Creek Twp., Avery Co., NC on 8 April 1930. Lloyd died of congestive heart failure on 4 September 1998 at the age of 84 in Asheville, Buncombe Co., NC and was buried at Gragg Family Cemetery in Roseborough, Avery Co., NC on 6 September 1998.36150,36151

Lloyd Coffey

Lloyd Maynard Coffey Sr., 84, of Grassy Prong Road, Linville, died Friday, Sept. 4, 1998 in an Asheville Hospital.

A native and lifelong resident of Avery County, he was a son of the late Daniel and Jodie Coffey. Mr. Coffey retired from the U.S. Forest Service after 33 years of service as a supervisor. He was a member of the CCC, Edgemont Baptist Church and attended the Long Ridge Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Mary Lou and Billy Jo Coffey.

Survivors include his wife, Cenie Coffey of the home; two daughters, Nancy Earp of Granite Falls and Sherry Renee of Elk Park; five sons, Lloyd Coffey Jr. of Granite Falls, Ken Coffey, Tommy Coffey and Gerald Coffey of Gamewell and Randy Coffey of Linville; two sisters, Margie Coffey of Marion and Irene Woody of Jonas Ridge; two brothers, Howard Coffey of Statesville and Herman Coffey of Newland; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday from the Grandfather Chapel of Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home with the Rev. John McCoury officiating.

Interment will follow in the Roseboro[*] Cemetery.

Lloyd Junior "Bun" Coffey, 77, went home to be with his heavenly Father on Sunday, Jan. 22, 2017. He was born in Avery County on Oct. 16, 1939, to the late Lloyd and Cenie Coffey. He was also preceded in death by his infant sisters, Mary Lou Coffey and Billie Jo Coffey.

Junior graduated from Newland High School and retired from MDI as a truck driver after 35 years of service. He was a member of Mountain Grove Church in Granite Falls and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, traveling and gardening.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Donna Causby Coffey; daughter, Dawn Morgan; sons, David Coffey and wife Ann, and Darryl Coffey; granddaughter, Heather Morgan; grandson, Dakota Coffey; sisters, Nancy Coffey Earp and husband Burl of Granite Falls, and Sherry Reece of Elk Park; brothers, Kenneth Coffey and wife Judy of Gamewell, Tommy Coffey and wife Carolann of Gamewell, Gerald Coffey and wife Maxine of Gamewell, and Randy Coffey and wife Susan of Lin-ville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Junior's life will be held at Mountain Grove Church at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, 2017, with Pastor Cliff Black officiating. Burial will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Park immediately following the service.

The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, at Mountain Grove Church.
