Maggie Earp

Maggie Coffey Earp, 85, of Route 8, Lenoir, died Tuesday, May 4, 1993 at the Blowing Rock Hospital.

Born March 29,1908, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Alice Townsend Coffey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Earp; one son; one daughter; five brothers; and six sisters.

Mrs. Earp was a native of Caldwell County, a homemaker and a member of Boone Fork Baptist Church.

Survivors include one brother, Edgar O. Coffey of Lenoir, a foster son, Howard Woodruff of Lenoir; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Friday at Boone Fork Baptist Church with the Rev. Bill Wright officiating. The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Boone.

Margaret Emmaline "Maggie Mae" Coffey and Jacob Dalton Rich were married in Watauga Co., NC. They were divorced before 1935 in Watauga Co., NC. Jacob Dalton Rich, son of William Butler Rich and Mary Carolina Townsend, was born on 11 September 1900 in Yadkin Valley, Caldwell Co., NC. He registered for the WWI draft on 12 September 191833873 Jacob died of a brain convulsion on 31 July 1938 at the age of 37 at Watauga Hospital in Boone, Boone Twp., Watauga Co., NC and was buried at White Springs Cemetery in Blowing Rock, Watauga Co., NC on 1 August 1938.33874,33875

James Earp

James Earp, 81, of Route 8, Lenoir, died Tuesday, Feb. 11, 1992, at Blowing Rock Hospital.

He was born on Oct. 15, 1910, in Watauga County to the late Noah and Emma Baldwin Earp. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Lee Earp.

Mr. Earp was a member of Boone's Fork Baptist Church and was retired from Thomasville Furniture.

Survivors include his wife Maggie Coffey Earp of Lenoir; a foster son, Howard Woodruff of Lenoir; one sister, Dollie Greene of Boone; and a number of nieces and nephews.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Thursday at Boone's Fork Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Fillers officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends tonight from 7 until 8:30 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home in Boone.
