William T. Coffey Sr., 83, of Main Street, Lenoir, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, Dec. 20, 2008, at Caldwell Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 22, 1925, in Caldwell County to the late Wesley P. Coffey and Allie Philyaw Coffey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Coffey and Ira Coffey; one sister, Cora Lee Coffey.

Mr. Coffey was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church, retired as an electrician from Home Electric and also retired from the U.S. Army as a combat engineer.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elisabeth Amend Coffey of the home; one son, William T. Coffey Jr. and his wife Thelma of Collettsville; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Watson and her husband Tom of Lenoir, Ms. Tracy Coffey of the home; one brother, Claude M. Coffey of Lenoir; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2008, at 2 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Nicky Waters. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dustin Coffey, Jason Coffey, Dale Coffey, Allen Tolbert, David Lee Philyaw and Ronnie Houck. Honorary pallbearer will be Richard Coffey.

Memorial contributions may be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.

Greer-McElveen Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

W. Tracy "Tracy" Coffey was born on 1 October 1950 in Germany. Tracy died at Caldwell Hospice & Palliative Care in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC on 13 November 2012 and was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC on 15 November 2012 .45728

W. Tracy Coffey, age 62, of Lenoir, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, November 13, 2012 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care – Lenoir. She was born October 1, 1950 in Germany to Elisabeth Amend Coffey of Lenoir and the late William T. Coffey. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wesley and Allie Coffey and Jakob and Elisabeth Amend; and uncle, Adam Amend. 

Ms. Coffey was formerly employed by Blackwelder Hospital in Respiratory Therapy and was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church. 

Survivors, in addition to her mother, include a brother, William T. “Tommy” Coffey and wife Thelma of Collettsville; sister, Joyce Coffey Watson and husband Tom of Lenoir; uncle, Claude Coffey of Hudson; two nephews, Dustin Coffey and wife Sonya of Rutherfordton and Jason Coffey of Lenoir, niece, Monica Watson Steed and husband Stuart of Raleigh; great-nephews, Hunter Coffey, Hayden Coffey, Tyler Cheek, Davis Cheek and Ben Steed; great-niece, Hailey Coffey; and numerous cousins. 

Graveside services will be held Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 2:30 p.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Park conducted by Rev. Tony Bradshaw and Rev. Tommy Coffey and soloist, Rev. James Baker. 

The family would like to say a special thank you to all Hospice workers, volunteers, nurses and doctors for the care given to Tracy.
