Stuart Herald

Stuart Ellis Herald, 71, of Route 5, Lenoir, died Tuesday, June 21, 1994, at N.C. Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.

He was born Sept. 6, 1922, in Caldwell County to the late Vaughn Errand and Nora Coffee [sic] Herald, He was also preceded in death by one granddaughter.

Mr. Herald was retired from Thomasville Furniture and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. He was also a member of the CC Corps.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia Ruth Chandler Herald of the home; two sons, Jerry Ellis Herald of Wendale and John Stewart Herald of Knoxville, Tenn.; one daughter, Peggy Jean Herald Chester of Ferguson; three sisters, Cindy Penley of Lenoir, Florence Porter of Dublin, Ga. and Louise Pugh of Granite Falls; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Mulberry Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Benny Helton officiating.

The family will receive friends tonight from 8 until 8:30 at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home.
