Mr. James Martin Coffey, Jr. of Dunwoody, died July 8, 2014. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and a graduate of Auburn University where he obtained a B.S. degree in Engineering. He was employed for 35 years with IBM and was a Founding Board Director of Mill Springs Academy and the author of The Marley Families of North Carolina. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lynoma and daughters, Sandra Hofmann of Milton, GA; Betty Amodeo of Smyrna, GA; Terri Smith of Canton, GA; son, Robert Coffey of Smyrna, GA and grandchildren, Wayne Bishop,II, Jeffrey Bishop, Jennifer Marshie, Forrest Smith and Graham Smith and great grandchildren Will Bishop, Samantha Bishop and James Bishop. Mr. Coffey was preceded in death by his sister Anne Coffey Zinker. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 12:30 p.m. at Sandy Springs Chapel. Interment will follow in Arlington Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to thejourneyfund.com.
