May Irene Pyatte

Newland - May Irene Pyatte, 81, of Camp Creek Road, Newland, the Altamont community, died Monday, March 15, 2004, in the Linville hospital.

A native of Avery County, she was a daughter of the late Hardy and Lillie Gray Coffey. She and her husband, Alvin Ellis Pyatte, who died in 1988, owned and operated the Pineola Service Station and the Weld House at Altamont for several years. She was a member of Altamont United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her sons, Kenneth "Buck" Pyatte and his wife, Carolyn, of Newland and John Alvin Pyatte and his wife, Carolyn, of Virginia Beach, Va.; daughter, Linda Puett of Altamont; sisters, Evelyn Hollifield of Kings Mountain and Eva Keller of Altamont; special friend, Gene Langley of Chesapeake Bay, Va.; four grandchildren and and seven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday from the Altamont United Methodist Church with the Revs. Ronnie Pyatte and Kenneth Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Pisgah Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home.

Linda Irene Pyatte was born circa 1951 in Avery Co., NC. Linda died in Altamont, Avery Co., NC on 9 April 2011. Inurnment was at at Altamont United Methodist Church in Altamont, Avery Co., NC on 11 April 2011.

Linda Irene Pyatte Puett, age 60, of Altamont passed away on Saturday April 9, 2011 at her residence.

A native of Avery County, she was born a daughter of the late Alvin Ellis and May Irene Coffey Pyatte.

She was a member of the Altamont United Methodist Church.

Linda was a member of the Edgar Case Society of Virginia Beach, VA and enjoyed studying geneology, being with her grandchildren, antiques, herbs and natural healing.

She worked for 33yrs as a fill operator for Baxter Healthcare.

A great mother, mother-in-law and sister, she has left to cherish her memory: her sons and daughters-in-law, Larry E. and Diane Pyatte, Randy E. and Deidre Pyatte, Johnny L. and Angie Pyatte; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth H. and wife Carolyn Pyatte, Johnny A. and Dorothy Donn-Pyatte; grandchildren, Jane J. Ollis and husband Josh, Kaila Johnson, Hayley Pyatte, Jesse Pyatte, Morgan Pyatte, Hunter Pyatte, Danielle Pyatte and Colby Pyatte; nephew, Ronnie Pyatte and wife, Missie; great niece, Cannan Pyatte.

A memorial service for Mrs. Puett will be held on Monday April 11th at 1:00 p.m. at the Altamont United Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mitchell County Hospice at P.O. Box 38 Spruce Pine, NC 28777.
