DOLLY C. COBB


VALDESE - Mrs. Dolly Coffey Cobb, 88, of Valdese, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004, at Valley Nursing Center in Taylorsville after a period of declining health.

Mrs. Cobb was born April 5, 1916, in Ashe County, to the late John Peyton and Jennie Horton Coffey.

She was a member of Valdese Church of God and a retired housekeeper from Loma Linda University Hospital, Loma Linda, Calif.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, John, Thurman and Little Jack Coffey; and four sisters, Lucy Wood, Mattie McCartney, Ruby Livingston and Eva Edmonds.

Surviving are a son, Alan Cobb of Drexel; two daughters, Sheena Williams of Valdese and Sonya White of Morganton; and a sister, Treva Houpe of Morganton. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service for Dolly Coffey Cobb will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, in Woodland Cemetery, Winston-Salem, with the Rev. Thom Hartman officiating.

The Cobb family will receive friends from 7 to 8 tonight, Tuesday at Heritage Funeral Service, Valdese.
