Mrs. Agnes Coffey

Blowing Rock - Mrs. Agnes Wright Coffey, 66, of Blowing Rock died Monday in Blowing Rock Hospital.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Rumple Memorial Presbyterian Church of which she was a member. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Coffey was a beautician and owner of Agnes Beauty Salon.

Survivors are daughter, Mrs. Patricia Coates of Boone; son, James R. Coffey of High Point; brothers, Thomas Wright of Boone, Paul Wright of Roanoke, Va.; four grandchildren.

Hampton Funeral Service in Boone is in charge of arrangements.

Agnes Adele Wright and James Bynum Coffey were married on 5 July 1939 in North Carolina. James Bynum Coffey, son of James Hardy Coffey and Lillian Mae Gray, was born on 28 April 1912 in Watauga Co., NC.36639 He lived with his parents in Linville, Linville Twp., Avery Co., NC on 9 January 1920. He lived with his parents in Linville, Linville Twp., Avery Co., NC on 3 May 1930. James died on 26 April 1986 at the age of 73 in Watauga Co., NC and was buried at Tanglewood Cemetery in Linville, Avery Co., NC.36640,36641,36642

Patricia Joe Ann Coffey was born on 21 March 1941 in Watauga Co., NC.36643 Patricia died in High Point, Guilford Co., NC on 4 November 1998.

Mrs. Patricia Ann Coffey Coates, 57, of Elm Towers died Nov. 4, 1998, at her residence.

She was born March 21, 1941, in Watauga County, a daughter of James B. and Agnes Wright Coffey. She had been a resident of Boone prior to moving to High Point in 1990. She had previously been associated with Wachovia Bank and NCNB. She was an active member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church. Her first marriage was to Vance Adam Northern. Her second marriage was to David Coates, who preceded her in death.

Surviving are one son, Michael Northern of Boone, one brother, James "Jim" Coffey of High Point; and one grandson, Austin Michael Northern.

A memorial service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Episcopal Church by the Rev. Glenn Busch. Inurnment [sic] will be in the church columbarium. Visitation will follow the service.

Mr. Coffey

James Robert Coffey, age 57, of High Point, died Thursday, November 11 at his home.

Mr. Coffey was born September 27, 1942 in Blowing Rock, a son of James Bynum and Agnes Wright Coffey.

He retired in 1991 as Treasurer of Jefferson-Pilot Fire and Casualty Company. He was a member of Parkwood Baptist Church and was first tenor with The Living Faith Quartet of Colfax for 25 years and for one year he sand with the Galilean quartet of Reidsville.

Mr. Coffey is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Chris (Allison) Richter and Mrs. Derrick (Jane) Moody; one son, James Richard Coffey and wife, Karen, and two grandchildren.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Family Funeral Care of Thomasville, N.C. was in charge of the arrangements.
