Kenneth W. Coffey, 60, of Woodlawn Drive, Hudson, N.C., died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2001, at his residence. He was the husband of Clare Terry (Lawrence) Coffey. 

Born Oct. 14, 1940, in Caldwell County, N.C., he was the son of the late Bealer and Lema (Greene) Coffey. 

A retired supervisor with Barnhardt No. 1, he was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church and served in the Navy for six years. 

Surviving also are four sons, Jeffrey W. Coffey, at home; Brian K. Coffey, Scott A. Coffey and Andrew G. Coffey, all of Lenoir, N.C.; a brother, Larry W. Coffey of Granite Falls, N.C.; three sisters, Dare Coffey, Doris Bumgarner and Hazel Johnson, all of Granite Falls, N.C.; and six grandchildren. 

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ellen Williams, and a brother, Wayne Coffey. 

The funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday at Pendry's Chapel, Lenoir, N.C., with the Rev. Duane Kuykendall officiating. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service on Friday at the funeral home. 

Serving as pallbearers will be: Willie Bumgarner, Phillip Bumgarner, Chad Warren, Rick Williams, Gary Johnson and Victor Coffey.

Kenneth Walter Coffey and Clare Lawrence were married. Clare Lawrence, daughter of Francis Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Lookenbill, was born on 27 July 1942 in Hanover Co., York Co., PA. Clare Lawrence Coffey, 71, of Hudson passed away on Monday, July 29, 2013, at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson.

She was born July 27, 1942, in Hanover, Penn., to the late Francis Lawrence and Mary Elizabeth Lookenbill Lawrence. Clare is also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Coffey; one son, Jeffery Wade Coffey; and one brother, Robert Lawrence.

She was a retired secretary and of the Catholic faith.

Mrs. Coffey is survived by her three sons, Andrew Coffey, and Brian Coffey and wife Nora, both of Hudson, and Scott Coffey of Lenoir; two brothers, Sam Lawrence and Bill Lawrence, both of Hanover, Penn.; three sisters, Angela Miller of Hanover, Penn., Geraldine Carbough of McSherrystown, Penn., and Cheryl Mauck of Mayo, Md.; four grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild.

Funeral services for Mrs. Coffey will be held on Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013, at Pendry's Chapel at 2 p.m., with Deacon Stephen Picket of ficiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Pendry's Funeral Home.
