Jack Coffey

Jack Coffey, 87, of Lenoir passed away Sunday, June 29, 2008, at Blowing Rock Hospital.

Mr. Coffey was born in Caldwell County to the late Monroe Coffey and Dovie Clark Coffey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Huffman Coffey; two brothers and a sister.

He loved the great outdoors. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from the furniture industry.

Survivors include a son, Frederick Coffey of Boone; a grandson, Anthony Coffey of New York; three sisters, Louise Steele of Hudson, Blanche Garren and her husband Bill of Lenoir, and Nell Mize of Georgia. He also is survived by numerous other relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with the Rev. Ashley Gragg officiating.

Jack Coffey and Sadie Alice Huffman were married. Sadie Alice Huffman, daughter of James Granville Huffman and Grace Genelia Austin, was born on 3 February 1923 in North Carolina.7171 Sadie died on 10 October 1984 at the age of 61 in Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., NC.36980
