Thomas Carroll Tom Herman, 64, Johnson City, passed away Friday January 2, 2009, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
He was a Carter County native. Mr. Herman was retired due to disability from the Carter County Highway Department as a truck driver. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Tracy James Herman; a sister, Bonnie Sipes; and a brother, Jerry Herman. Survivors include his wife: Linda Kay McKeehan Herman; A daughter: Sheri Kay and husband, Bob Edwards, Suffolk, Virginia; His Mother, Alice Rasnick Herman Largent, Pine Ridge Care Center, Elizabethton; Six Grandchildren: James Edwards, Joshua Edwards, Brittanni Edwards, April Edwards, Ryan Edwards and Aleena Edwards; Three Great Grandchildren: Gabrielle, Owen and Emma Lynn; Two Brothers: Tracy Arnold Herman, Elizabethton, and Roy Lynn Herman, Valdese, North Carolina; Several Nieces & Nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Monday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Doug Hardin officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 2:20 p.m. Monday, will be: Josh Edwards, James Edwards, Howard McKeehan, Keith Herman, Joe Herndon, William Chapman, Ray Lyons and Ralph McKeehan. The family would like to express a special Thank You to the Staff of ICU Sycamore Shoals Hospital. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
