John Coffey

John Lee Coffey, 75, of 1206 Idlewood Court died Thursday in Moses Cone Hospital. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Forbis & Dick North Elm Street Chapel, with the Rev. Jack Roe officiating and with burial in Westminster Garden. The family will be at the funeral home 7-9 p.m. today.

He was a retired field supervisor of McNess Co. He was a native of Caldwell County and a member of Magnolia Street Baptist Church.

Survivors are widow, Mrs. May Bell Coffey; two daughters, Mrs. Earl Jaggers of Gibsonville, Mrs. Jack Stutts of Greensboro; brothers, Herbert Coffey of Detroit, Mich., Robert Coffey of Charlotte; sisters, Mrs. Mary Collins and Mrs. Minnie Doss of Max Meadows, Va.

John Lee Coffey and Mary Jane Bell were married. Mary Jane Bell was born in 1902 in Austinville, Wythe Co., VA. Mary died at Evergreens Nursing Center in Greensboro, Guilford Co., NC on 2 September 1999 and was buried at Westminster Gardens in Greensboro, Guilford Co., NC on 4 September 1999 .31512,31513

Mrs. Mary Jane Coffey, 97, of 1206 Idlewood Court, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 1999, at the Evergreens Nursing Center. 

The funeral for Mrs. Coffey will be at 12 noon Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, at Forbis & Dick North Elm Chapel. Interment will follow in Westminster Gardens. 

Mrs. Coffey was a native of Austinville, Va. She was the oldest member of Magnolia Street Baptist Church and a homemaker. 

Mrs. Coffey loved to help other people in need and she was a loving and kind person to every one. 

Mrs. Coffey was preceded in death by her husband, John Lee Coffey and daughter, Louise Jaggers. 

She is survived by daughter, Lorrene Stutts of Greensboro; two grandchildren, Ronald Woods and Keith and wife, Kim Jaggers; two great-grandchildren, Kristal and Kristopher Jaggers; special friend and neighbor, Mrs. Lillian Cudworth and family. 

The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Forbis & Dick North Elm Chapel and other times, at Mrs. Lorrene Stutts, 1009 Montpelier Drive, Greensboro, NC 27410.
