Ila Dellinger Jolly, age 90, of Valley Nursing Center, Taylorsville, and a former resident of Hiddenite, died Sunday, May 22, 2005, at Valley Nursing Center. She was born in Avery County May 7, 1915, the daughter of the late Keever Dellinger and Rebecca Coffey Dellinger. She was a homemaker and was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, David Crowson Wike, and her second husband, George Jolly; three sons, James David Wike, Darrell Wike, and Kenneth Wike; two brothers, Raymond Dellinger and Clyde Dellinger; three sisters, Virgie Woody, Katie Loudermilt, and Annie Maltba; and three grandchildren, Sandra Cloer, Todd Jenkins, and Jeffery Wike. Survivors include three sons, Gene Wike and wife Debbie and Roger Wike, all of Taylorsville, and Jerry Wike and wife Kay of Hiddenite; four daughters, Lillian Childers, Carol Jenkins and husband Jim, and Kathy Gant and husband David, all of Taylorsville, and Clara Hensley and husband Charlie of Georgia; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service was held Tuesday, May 24, 2005, at the Rocky Face Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert Ferguson officiating. Memorials may be made to the Rocky Face Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, Allen Rd., Hiddenite, NC 28636.

Ila Frances Dellinger and David Crowson Wike were married. David Crowson Wike, son of David Partee Wike and Edith Mae Deal, was born on 24 May 1911 in North Carolina. David died of a coronary occlusion on 22 February 1963 at the age of 51 at North Carolina Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, Forsyth Co., NC and was buried at Rocky Face Baptist Church Cemetery in Taylorsville, Alexander Co., NC on 25 February 1963.34233,34234

WIKE FUNERAL
RITES MONDAY

TAYLORSVILLE - David Crowson Wike, 51, of Taylorsville, Route Three, died at 6:58 p.m. Friday at the Baptist hospital in Winston-Salem. He had been in declining health for nine years, but death was unexpected.

Mr. Wike a farmer, was born in Alexander county May 24, 1911, a son of the late Partee and Edith Mae Deal Wike.

Funeral services will be conducted at two o'clock Monday afternoon at Rocky Face Baptist church in Alexander county. The Rev. George Arney will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body will be taken from the Adams Funeral Home in Taylorsville to the residence at five o'clock Sunday afternoon. The body will be placed in the church for 30 minutes before the funeral hour.

Survivors include his wife, Ida [sic] Frances Dellinger Wike of the home; six sons, James Wike of Alexander county, Kenneth Wike of Iredell county, Jerry Wike, Darrell Wike, Larry Gene Wike and Roger Dale Wike, all of the home; four daughters, Mrs. Waitsel Canter of Alexander county, Mrs. Charles Hensley of Decatur, Ga., Mrs. Jimmy Jenkins of Alexander county and Miss Kathy Wike of the home; 10 grandchildren; one brother, Raeford Wike of Taylorsville; and five sisters, Mrs. Sam Neil, Mrs. Babe Kerley and Mrs. Paul Childers, all of Kannapolis, Mrs. Sam Deal and Mrs. Grover Bentley, both of Alexander county.

Mr. Wike was a member of Rocky Face Baptist church.

Ila Frances Dellinger and David Crowson Wike had the following children:

Ila Frances Dellinger and George Washington Jolly were married. George Washington Jolly was born on 10 February 1906 in Alexander Co., NC. George died on 23 April 1987 at the age of 81 in Taylorsville, Alexander Co., NC and was buried at Salem Lutheran Church Cemetery in Taylorsville, Alexander Co., NC.34237
