Clarence Coffey

Mr. Clarence Wesley Coffey, 58, of Piercy Lane, died Monday, June 26, 2006 at his home. Born Oct. 18, 1947 in Richmond, Va., Mr. Coffey was a son of the late Bosom Joseph and Mary Ruth Townsand Coffey and the husband of the late Valerie Moody Coffey. Other than his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Pearl Wilcox, Wanda Cornett and three brothers, Clifford, Auburn and Dale Coffey.

He is survived by two daughters, Karen Winebarger and husband Robert of Kings Creek and Katherine Hood of Lenoir; three sons, Clarence Gerald Coffey and wife Jennie, Daniel Coffey and Jeremiah Coffey all of Lenoir; three brothers, Glenn Coffey and wife Mary of Lenoir, Dayton Coffey and wife Dollie of Randalman and Marvin Coffey of Sophia, N.C.; 15 grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Service on Thursday, June 29, 2006 from 6 until 7:30 p.m.

Valerie Coffey

Mrs. Valerie M. Coffey, 57 of Piercy Lane, died Friday, June 2, 2006 at her home.

Born Nov. 10, 1948 in Avery County, N.C., Mrs. Coffey was a daughter of the late Robert William and Dora Gwynn Moody and the wife of Clarence Wesley Coffey of the home. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Moody.

Other than her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Karen Winebarger and husband Robert of Kings Creek; Katherine Hood of Lenoir; three sons, Clarence Gerald Coffey and wife Jennie, Daniel Coffey and Jeremiah Coffey, all of Lenoir; five brothers, Jesse Moody, William Moody, Junior Moody and wife Sandra, Gary Moody, all of Lenoir, and Harold Moody and wife Margie of Elkin; 15 grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Service in Lenoir on Wednesday, June 7, 2006 from 6 until 7:30 p.m.
