Beulah Nichols

Beulah Evelyn Coffey Nichols, 86, of Mulberry Creek Road, Lenoir, was surrounded by her family, when she went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Gateway Nursing Center.

She was born August 22, 1923 in Caldwell County to the late Robert and Crettie Ritch Coffey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sons, George Robert Nichols, Charles Wesley Nichols and Thomas Lee Nichols; and one brother, Tom Coffey.

Mrs. Nichols was a homemaker and a member of Rufus Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, George W. Nichols of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Ann Guinn and husband Elmer, and Mrs. Cheryl Foster, all of Lenoir, and Mrs. Donna Smith and husband Paul of Hudson, Fla.; two brothers, Jay Coffey and Bob Coffey, both of Lenoir; four sisters, Mary Belle Nichols, Lena Clark, Lilly Greene and Beadie Clark, all of Lenoir; nine grandchildren, Deborah Smith and husband Richard, Marsha Cook and husband Rodney, Russell Guinn and wife Beth, Tina Greene and husband Byron, Shannon Helton and husband Bryan, April Jensen and husband Thomas, Tony Foster and wife DeeDee, Josh Poole, and Sarah Turpin and husband Dwight; 15 great-grandchildren, Chris Smith and wife Jackie, Amanda Smith, Dustin and Kaylan Rockwell, John Thomas Guinn, Annalee and Brayden Greene, Skylar Lingerfelt, Bryanna and Jayden Helton, Hailey Jensen, Jordan and Noah Foster, and Austin Turpin; and two great-great-grandchildren, Dylan Boyle and Ashlynne Smith.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Rufus Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Todd Cardwell and Chaplain Steve Butler. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be: Tony Foster, Josh Poole, Byron Greene, Bryan Helton, Dustin Rockwell and Russell Guinn.

Honorary pallbearers will be Thomas Jensen, Rodney Cook, Richard Smith and Chris Smith.

George Wesley Nichols: Age 87, of Mulberry Creek Road, Lenoir, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care in Hudson.

He was born June 10, 1924 in Caldwell County to the late Rev. Lennie Lee Nichols and Henrietta Curtis Nichols.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Beulah Nichols; three sons, George Robert Nichols, Charles Wesley Nichols and Thomas Lee Nichols; five sisters, Lucy Summerow, Joncie Swearengin, Marie Coffey, infant Mary Jane Nichols and infant Alice Nichols; two brothers, Oscar Nichols and Richard Nichols; and step-mother, Bertha Nichols. 

Mr. Nichols was a repairman in the furniture industry and was a charter member of Rufus Baptist Church. 

Survivors include three daughters, Ann Guinn and husband Elmer and Cheryl Foster, both of Lenoir and Donna Smith and husband Paul of Hudson, Florida; two brothers, Eddie Nichols and Clarence Nichols, both of Lenoir; nine grandchildren, Deborah Smith and husband Richard, Marsha Cook and husband Roscoe, Russell Guinn and wife Beth, Tina Greene and husband, Byron, Shannon Helton and husband Bryan, April Jensen and husband Thomas, Tony Foster and wife Dee Dee, Josh Poole and Sarah Turpin and husband Dwight, 15 great-grandchildren, Chris Smith and wife Jackie, Amanda Smith Helton and husband Jesse, Dustin and Kaylan Rockwell, John Thomas Guinn, Annalee and Brayden Greene, Skylar Lingerfelt, Bryanna and Jayden Helton, Hailey Jensen, Jordan and Noah Foster and Austin Turpin; and six great-great-grandchildren, Dylan Boyle, Ashlynne Smith, Ashton Smith, Lexi Allen, Drayton Rockwell and Kaleb Helton. 

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 23, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at Rufus Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Aron Shell. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. 

Serving as pallbearers will be: Tony Foster, Dustin Rockwell, Bryan Helton, Russell Guinn, Thomas Jensen, Christopher Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be: Richard Smith, Roscoe Cook, Joshua Poole and Byron Greene.

Thomas Lee Nichols was born on 5 July 1947 in North Carolina. Thomas died of accidental head injuries on 3 April 1966 at the age of 18 at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC and was buried at Lenoir, Caldwell Co., NC on 5 April 1966.45686,45687
