BENSON, Margaret Lee, (''Maggie""), 85, of God's Place Massie Haven, Stuarts Draft, died Tuesday, May 27, 1997 at Augusta Medical Center in Fishersville. She was born July 12, 1912 in Rockbridge County, a daughter of John Finley and Latisha Bird Fitzgerald Cline. She was a member of the Abundant Life Ministries and retired from Western State Hospital. She continued to minister and assist with the needs of others through her care of her friends at Massie Haven. Survivors include three daughters, Sandra F. Campbell, Stuarts Draft, Shelva J. Arehart, Snowville, Ruby L. Wilkins, Dayton, Ohio; as well as 17 grandchildren; and 33 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Benson also leaves behind a special friend and caregiver, Walda Massie, as well as her special friends at Massie Haven. She was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart Benson and four children, Wallace M. Benson, Kenneth R. Benson, Frances Irvine and Thelma Ann Benson. Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday in the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Etter-Reynolds Funeral Service, conducted by the Rev. Alfred Bashlor, with burial following at St. John's Reformed United Church of Christ Cemetery in Middlebrook. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Stuarts Draft Chapel of Etter-Reynolds.
