GOSPORT — Edna M. Pettijohn, 94, of Gosport, died Monday at Heritage House in Martinsville.

Born Feb. 1, 1905, in Hendricksville, she was the daughter of Charles and Mary Ann (Hendricks) Coffey. She was a homemaker and member of Gosport Baptist Church and Eureka Club.

Survivors include two sons, Merle Pettijohn Jr. of Terre Haute and Marion Pettijohn of Greenfield; one brother, Wallace Coffey of Dale; two sisters, Dorothy Burton of Washington and Bernice Watkins of Gosport; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle Pettijohn Sr.; one son, Donald Pettijohn; one sister and three brothers; and one grandson.

Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Whitaker Funeral Home in Gosport with the Rev. Norman Able officiating. Burial will be at Gosport Cemetery.

Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Edna May Coffey and James Merl Pettijohn were married on 10 December 1924 in Owen Co., IN.33139 James Merl Pettijohn, son of David Pettijohn and Roda Bell, was born on 4 April 1901 in Monroe Co., IN. James died on 28 February 1983 at the age of 81 in Owen Co., IN and was buried at Gosport Cemetery in Gosport, Owen Co., IN.33140
