Jack Quincy Williams, 79, 223 Sinking Creek Road, died Saturday, March 3, 2001, at his residence.

Mr. Williams was a Washington County native and had lived in Carter County since 1955. He was a son of the late George Quincy and Molly Coffey Williams.

Mrs. Williams was a World War II Marine Corps veteran.

He was a retired brakeman/conductor with Southern Railroad.

Mr. Williams was a member of East Unaka Christian church.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Anne Williams Bailey; and one brother, Frank T. Williams.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Willie Baxter Williams; one son, George A Williams, Kingsport; one sister, Betty Ruth Statzula, Albuquerque, N.M.; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Jack Quincy Williams and Willie Baxter were married on 22 May 1943. Willie Baxter was born on 15 November 1922.
