Hunter Early Coffey, age 62, manager of Newcomb Auto Parts in Farmville, died at his home Thursday. He was born in Amherst Co., Nov. 25, 1907, a son of the late Hiter Webster Coffey and Mary Higginbotham Coffey.

He was a member of the Farmville Masonic Lodge, the Farmville Lions Club, Southside Shrine Club, Acca Temple of Richmond, Farmville Moose Lodge, Veteran of Foreign Wars, South Side Saddle Club and the Virginia Beef Cattle Association.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nannie Vaughan [sic] Coffey of Farmville; a daughter, Mrs. Diane C. Young of Prospect; six sisters, Mrs. Ruby Davis, Lincoln Park, Michigan, Mrs. Janie Carr, Petersburg, W.Va., Mrs. Elsie Coffey, Vesuvius. Va., Mrs. Mildred Ray, Waynesboro, Mrs. Helen Keith, Monroe, Va., Mrs. Hazel Humston, Roanoke; four brothers, Lyle W. Coffey, War, W. Va., Wallace H. Coffey, Roanoke, Hiter R., Coffey, Amherst, Va., Wiley B. Coffey, Waynesboro; and a grandson, Hunter A. Young, Prospect.

Funeral service with Masonic rites 3 P.M. Sunday, Antioch United Methodist Church. Interment in church cemetery. Remains rest at Doyne-Burger Funeral Home in Farmville.

Hunter Early Coffey and Nannie Ridgeway Vaughn were married on 8 October 1939 in Cumberland, Cumberland Co., VA.42411 They42411 appeared in the census on 22 April 1940 in Buckingham Co., VA.42412 Nannie Ridgeway Vaughn, daughter of E. A. Vaughn and Vivian L. Price, was born on 6 April 1918 in Cumberland Co., VA. Nannie died on 11 February 1993 at the age of 74 in Virginia and was buried at Antioch Cemetery in Cumberland, Cumberland Co., VA.42413,42414,42415
