Wiley Bransford Coffey

Amherst - Wiley Bransford Coffey, 84, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2002 in Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of the late Elizabeth Myers Coffey.

Born May 7, 1918 in Amherst County, he was a son of the late Hiter Webster and Mary Higgenbotham Coffey. He was a member of the Emmanuel United Methodist Church and a retired employee from the DuPont plant in Waynesboro.

He is survived by a daughter, Ella Sue Coffey of Amherst; two sisters, Helen Keith of Agricola and Hazel Humston of Roanoke; and a brother, Hiter R. Coffey of Amherst.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2002 at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Adam White and the Rev. James Draper officiating. Burial followed in the Amherst Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Emmanuel United Methodist Church.

Driskill Funeral Chapel was in charge of the arrangements.

Wiley Bransford Coffey and Elizabeth Hargrove Myers were married on 30 October 1946 in Rockbridge Co., VA.42428 Elizabeth Hargrove Myers, daughter of Hal Wilson Myers and Ruth Ware, was born on 15 October 1921 in Amherst Co., VA. Elizabeth died in Virginia on 8 August 2001 and was buried at Amherst Cemetery in Amherst, Amherst Co., VA in August 2001 .42429
