COFFEY, Charles Ward, 65, of Smith Mountain Lake, died Monday, May 3, 1993. Charles was born in Lynchburg, Va., July 17, 1927, the son of Ward B. and Edna Breeden Coffey. He was a graduate of E.C. Glass high school, attended Lynchburg College and graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and also did graduate work at Penn State. He retired from the General Motors plant in Wilmington, Del. in 1985 with 35 years service. Surviving are his wife, Jacqueline Kelly Coffey; a daughter, Susan Rahman, Seattle, Wash.; a son, Charles (Chip) Coffey and wife, Roberta, Vancouver, Wash.; his stepchildren, George H. Snyder, Lexington, Ky.; Brandon Jay Snyder, Merril Cary Snyder, both of Orlando, Fla., Kelly C. Snyder, Scottsdale, Ariz.; his mother, Edna Breeden Coffey, Bedford; a sister, Anne Miles, Bedford; also four grandchildren, Daniel A., Lindsay E., Alissa A. and Laura C. Coffey. A memorial service will be held at Bedford Presbyterian Church Thursday, May 6, 11 a.m. with Dr. Richard Boyce officiating. A committal service will be held at a later date at Memorial Park in Zanesville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to the American Lung Association in his memory. Oakey's Roanoke Chapel is handling arrangements.

A living couple was married in 1976 in Williamsburg, VA.47767 Living, daughter of Douglas Waldo Kelly and Helen Marie Bright, was born in 1927 in Ohio.
