She and her husband, Alfred, taught their 10 children the importance of love, family, the value of good work ethic and above all, belief in God. She was a member of Springwood Baptist Church for over 50 years and later at Mt. Carmel Church. She and Alfred made sure that each and every child was brought up in the church. One of the most special gifts Mom gave us was the value of family and her unconditional love this she taught each of us through her years of dedication to her family.

She adored her children, grandchildren, greatgrandchildren, and great-greatgrandchildren and they all adored her. To the very end, her eyes danced when the children entered the room. Mae's joy and happiness in life was felt by all who met her or entered her home. She made everyone feel welcome with her sweet and precious spirit. She took great pride in her home and her excellent cooking was enjoyed not only by her family, but by many, many neighbors and friends.

Mae felt a great commitment to St. Jude Children's Hospital and gave generously. The family is indebted to the Eagle Rock Rescue Squad volunteers who have shown such consideration and compassion to our Mother in her time of need. The family requests in lieu of flowers, a donation be made in honor of Mae Coffey to either St. Jude Children's Hospital or Eagle Rock Rescue Squad. The family also wishes to express their appreciation and gratitude to Gentle Shepherd Hospice, and especially, Macky Anderson, for the care of our Mother and support of our family.
