June 27, 1937 - July 24, 2017 OKLAHOMA CITY July 24, 2017 brought to a close 80 years of a life well lived for Phyllis June Way surrounded by her loving family. She was born June 27, 1937 to Lura Anna (Coffey) and Granville Franky Way in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma. Phyllis went to Central High School in Oklahoma City completing the 10th grade before leaving school to go to work at Sunshine Laundry to help support her family. In 1963 Phyllis started her career with Western Electric, retiring in 1999. Phyllis was preceded in death by her father, Granville Franky Way on Nov. 9, 1966; mother, Lura Anna Way on Aug. 9, 1996; and her brother, Elzia Frankie Way on Aug. 8, 2002. Phyllis is survived by her brother, Clarence "Mutt" Way and wife Peggy of Farmersville, TX; sisters, Rosalie Spencer of Rowlett, TX, Pat Mengers of Mustang, Carol Horton of McLoud, Donna Hurley and husband George of Mustang, Dottie Parasich of Oklahoma City, Paula Hurt of Oklahoma City and Debbie Rusher of Mustang; and a host of nieces and nephews who adored her and will forever cherish her memory. Visitation for Phyllis will be Sunday, July 30, 2017, from 1-8pm with family present to receive friends from 3-5pm at Resthaven. Services to celebrate her life will be 10:00am Monday, July 31, 2017, in The Chapel at Resthaven. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Resthaven Funeral Home and Memory Gardens.
