16240. Walter Alexander Coffey was born on 26 July 1904 in Red Star, Fayette Co., WV. He lived with his parents in Fayetville, Fayette Co., WV on 6 May 1910. He lived with his grandmother in Fayetville, Fayette Co., WV on 12 January 1920. Walter died on 17 July 1968 at the age of 63 in Muncie, Delaware Co., IN and was buried at Beech Grove Cemetery in Muncie, Delaware Co., IN on 19 July 1968.42162

Walter A. Coffey, 62, 1418 S. Franklin St., died unexpectedly Monday morning after being stricken ill at his home, apparently of a heart attack.

He was a driver-salesman for Universal Electric, where he had been employed for 12 years. A native of Oak Hill, W.Va., he had lived in Muncie 44 years.

Mr. Coffey was a member of Delaware Lodge 46, F&AM; R&SM Council 16, Commandery 18, Knights Templar; Valley of Fort Wayne Scottish Rite, Mizpah Shrine at Fort Wayne; Murpah Shrine; Esther Shrine 14; the Moose and Eagles lodges and the Walnut Street Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille P.; his mother, Mrs. Frances Wiggins, Albany; a sister, Mrs. Ivan Davis, Mt. Hope, W.Va.; four brothers, Raymond, Pocahontas, Va., David, Charleston, W.Va., James, Philadelphia, Pa., and LaFraze Chambers, Newark, New Jersey.

Friends may call at Parson Mortuary from 2 to 5 and 6:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Muncie Commandery 18, Knights Templar, will hold memorial services Tuesday evening at the mortuary.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the mortuary with Rev. Earl Vaughn and Rev. Jack Brown officiating. Burial will be in Beech Grove Cemetery. Graveside services will be held Wednesday morning by Delaware Lodge 46, F&AM.

Walter Alexander Coffey and Lucille E. Palmer were married on 25 September 1926 in Allen Co., IN.42163 They42163 lived with her parents in Muncie, Delaware Co., IN on 11 April 1930. Lucille E. Palmer, daughter of Otto Palmer and Ethel Terry, was born on 6 March 1905 in Muncie, Delaware Co., IN. Lucille died on 2 November 1989 at the age of 84 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Delaware Co., IN and was buried at Beech Grove Cemetery in Muncie, Delaware Co., IN on 6 November 1989.42164

Lucille P. Coffey, 83, died Thursday in Ball Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was a Muncie native and a graduate of Muncie schools.
Mrs. Coffey was a member of Shawnee Heights Baptist Church and a member of the Delta Alpha Class, Eastern Star 104, Esther Shrine 17 and White Shrine of Jerusalem.

She was past worthy high priestess, Social Order of Beauceant 101, past president and past supreme comm woman, and Tete Sheri Temple 60, Daughters of the Nile, Fort Wayne, life member of Fez Mates of Mispah Shrine Club, past guardian of Bethel 25 of Job's Daughters, past Grand National president of Phi Chi Epsilon Sorority and past president of local XI Chapter, of which she was a life member and was presented her 50-year pin in 1988. She also was past state secretary of Verus Corddis Sorority, past president of local Semper Paratus Chapter, past president of the Muncie Nile Club, member of Huffer Day Care Center Auxiliary and a member of the Sam Bees Breakfast Club.

Mrs. Coffey worked 41 years at Indiana Pressed Steel Co. as executive secretary and retired in 1974.

Survivors include a brother, James Palmer, Muncie; two nephews, Larry Palmer, California, and Raymond Coffey Jr., Virginia; six nieces, Pat Hash and Diane Catron, both of Virginia, Elaine Saunders, Muncie, Toni Fauquher, Linda Kinnaird and Judy Stallings, all of Florida.

Services will be in Shawnee Heights Baptist Church, 1600 E. Fuson Road, at 10 a.m. Monday with Rev. Earl Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.

Calling hours at Parson Mortuary-Adams Chapel are 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday and a half hour before services Monday. A White Shrine memorial service will be Sunday evening at the mortuary.
