Mr. Roy Lee Coffey Sr., 82, of 210 Henkel St., Blowing Rock, died Sunday evening, July 13, 2008, at his home.

Mr. Coffey was born Feb. 16, 1926 in Caldwell County, a son of the late Fred and Octavia Loudermelt Coffey. He was a retired mechanical engineer for the Sanyo Corporation and served in the United States Army in World War II.

Mr. Coffey is survived by two daughters, Terry Coffey of Missouri and Candice Coffey of Blowing Rock; five sons, Guy Coffey, Greg Coffey of Chicago, Ill., Roy Lee Coffey Jr. of Vilas, Brian Coffey and wife, Victoria, of Charlotte, and Randy Coffey of Cabot, Ark.; one brother, Everette Coffey of Blowing Rock; and one sister, Viola Church of Blowing Rock. He is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Helen Goacher Coffey, and a number of brothers and sisters.

Funeral arrangements in West Memphis, Ark., for Mr. Coffey are incomplete at this time.

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, from 6 until 7:30, at Hampton Funeral Service in Boone.

Roy Lee Coffey and Margaret Helen Goacher were married. Margaret Helen Goacher was born on 4 August 1947 in Hughes, St. Francis Co., AR. Margaret died in Memphis, Shelby Co., TN on 25 August 1976 and was buried at Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Crittenden Co., AR in August 1976 .45580
