BRIMFIELD - Paul W. Coffey, 77, of Brimfield died at 3:35 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2001, at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Born April 10, 1924, in Middletown to James and Ida Noon Coffey, he married Shirley Snider on Dec. 8, 1946, in Chillicothe. She survives.

Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. John (Susie) Ingles of Mapleton; three sons, Ted (and Sharon) of Washington, Tim (and Doris) of Traverse City, Mich., and Matthew (and Lorraine) of Valrico, Fla.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Merle of Carman.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

A World War II Navy veteran, he was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4724 and American Legion Post 452, where he served as past commander. He also was a member of 40et8 Voiture 529.

He worked for Operating Engineers Local 649 for more than 50 years, retiring in 1988, and was president of Local 649 Retirees Club.

He attended Mount Olive Missionary Church in Peoria.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Wilton Mortuary. The Rev. Donald Blasing will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.

Memorials may be made to his American Legion post.

A living couple was married in 1946 in Chillicothe, Ross Co., OH. Living (private).
