Christine Coffey Beeton, 92, of Charlottesville, Va., departed this life on Ash Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2004, in Charlottesville.

She was born June 1, 1911, in Nelson County, to Georgia Anne Campbell and Charles Franklin Coffey. She was one of nine children. Christine was married to Lionel Elwood Beeton, of Lexington, Virginia , who died on June 2, 1992, two weeks before their 60th wedding anniversary.

Christine is survived by her sister, Lyndall Coffey McCloud, of Alexandria, Louisiana; her sister, Louise Coffey Rawley, of Front Royal, Virginia; her brother Carlton L. Coffey, of Fairfax Station, Virginia; her daughter, Beverly Anne Beeton, of Charlottesville, Virginia; her granddaughter, Anne Carter Harrison, of Charlottesville, Virginia; her grandson, Benjamin L. Harrison, of Valrico, Florida; her great granddaughter, Toni Anne Harrison, of Gardena, California; her great grandson, Joseph A. Benedict, of Southfield, Michigan; her great granddaughter, Christina Rose Benedict, of Charlottesville, Virginia; her great grandson, Alexander C. Harrison, of Charlottesville, Virginia; her great grandson, Benjamin Christian Harrison, of Valrico, Florida; and her great, great grandson, Saito Michael Lecei Tovulu, of Gardena, California.

Christine attended Alexandria High School in Alexandria, Va. For many years, she was a legal secretary for the Southern Railway System in Washington, D.C. She and her husband "Beetie", retired to Waterford, Va., in Loudoun County; then to Richmond, Va., and finally to Charlottesville. She was a member of DAR (Daughter's of the American Revolution) and St. Paul's Memorial Church in Charlottesville, Va.

A visitation will be held today from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

A memorial service will be conducted at St. Paul's Memorial Church Chapel at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2004 with the Rev. David Poist officiating. Interment to follow at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery in Lexington, Va.
