Cecil, Lula Phillips, 91, of Oneida, passed away Monday, September 9, 1991, at the Scott County Nursing Home where she had been a resident for the past ten years.

She was the daughter of Sherman and Malinda Phillips, and was also preceded in death by her husband Charles Nelson Cecil; one sister, Grace Phillips; and three brothers: Tom, Fred, and Bud Phillips. She was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Survivors include her two children: daughter, Panonia Cecil of Augusta, Ga.; and son, James Burton Cecil and wife Betty, of Oneida; three granddaughters: Mrs. Kenny (Brenda) Allen, and Mrs. Denny (Lou Ann) Smith, both of Oneida; and Mrs. Tony (Stephanie) Brooks of Knoxville; and four great grandchildren; Jordan and Zachary Smith, and John and Jessica Allen.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday (today), September 12, from the Chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dale Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Phillips Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Jones & Son Funeral Home.
