Ode Lawrence Hollar, 90, of Blowing Rock Blvd. Lenoir died Friday, February 26, 2010 at Caldwell County Hospice and Palliative Care. He was born May 17, 1919 in Caldwell County to the late Elcani Martin and Mary Elizabeth Coffey Hollar. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers; Paul Hollar and Ed Hollar, One Sister; Jean Hollar.

Mr. Hollar was retired from Harper Furniture Company and a member of Setzer Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Hayes Hollar of the home; a son, David Lawrence Hollar of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Judy Arney and her husband Bill of Granite Falls; Mrs. Kay Lackey and her husband Jerry of Lenoir; a brother, Cla rence Hollar of Fairfax, Alabama; two sisters; Mrs. Marie H. Parsons of Lenoir and Mrs. Edna Swink, both of Lenoir; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 4 p.m. at Greer-McElveen Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Gary Teague and the Rev. Ken Mashburn.

The family will receive friends from 3-4 p.m. at the funeral home.
