Virgie Sprouse

Virgie Pauline Coffey Sprouse, 68, of Windy Acres, Morganton, died Saturday, July 4, 2009.

Born in Avery County on July 17, 1940, she was the daughter of the late William McKinley Coffey and Annie Crump Coffey.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Burleson G. Sprouse.

Virgie was a retired employee of the Burke County School System and a member of Harvest Praise Church.

Mrs. Sprouse is survived by her sons, Burl D. Sprouse and wife, Daisy, of Ft. Lee, Va., and Tim J. Sprouse and wife, Renee, of Morganton; daughters, Teresa Holsclaw and husband, Terry, and Regina "Gená" Farris and husband, Mickey, all of Morganton; a brother, Charlie Coffey of Avery County; sisters, Christine Clark of Morganton and Shirley Burse of Spruce Pine; and seven grandchildren, Michael Farris, Josh Farris, Joseph Hildebran, Danny Holsclaw, Ashley Holsclaw, Abby Sprouse and Kali Sprouse.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Harvest Praise Church with the Revs. Harold Camp, Barbara Camp and Barry Camp officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

Burial will follow in Mull's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.

Virgie Pauline Coffey and Burleson Gustin Sprouse were married. Burleson Gustin Sprouse was born on 5 January 1937 in Burke Co., NC. Burleson died in Morganton, Burke Co., NC on 6 April 1994. Mull's Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Morganton, Burke Co., NC in April 1994 .^35323,35324
