Coffey Dies at Home in Irving Thomas R. Coffey, well-known and highly respected Irving resident passed away suddenly at his home Wednesday, November 29 at 1:30 p.m. Mr. Coffey had been under the care of a physician for some time but his death came as a shock to his family and friends who had not realized his serious condition, since he had been able to be up and about his home. The deceased was born on July 20, 1870 and was 74 years, four months and nine days of age at the time of death. Mr. Coffey was twice married, his first wife being the former Sadie Cook, to whom two daughters were born, Mrs. Della Kuhn of Omaha, Nebraska and Mrs. Etta McKown of Decatur, both of whom survive the decedent. He was again married in 1897 to Miss Prudence Jennings who with their one daughter, Faye, wife of Ira "Bill" Holmes of Irving, survives. He also leaves three grandchildren, Keith McKown, Mrs. Jerald Joseph and John L. Kuhn. Six brothers and three sisters have preceded him in death. Mr. Coffey following the carpenter trade for many years the latter part of his life having been spent in the same trade but not so extensively as in earlier years. He was a member of the Irving Free Methodist Church. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 2 at 10:00 a.m. from the Irving Free Methodist Church, the Rev. J. O. Hendrickson, pastor of the church, officiating. Interment will be in the Irving Cemetery. [via Willis Oller] A living couple was married before 1897. Living (private). Thomas R.
